League Final Round
The LCU is delighted to confirm that the final day of the leagues is being hosted by Knights of Eanna / Rathmines Chess club in Colaiste Eanna, Rathfarnham. Morning Session (10am): Div 2,4,5South( 114 boards) Evening Session (3pm): Div 1,3,5North & Bodley playoff (Winner of North v South) Prize givings will be immediately after the rounds. Trophies are to be brought by the holder and given to the controller at the start of the round. Clocks are starting sharp at the above time. Teamsheets must be submitted before the final day to the leagues controller as per the legaue rules.

20th Malahide Millennium Tournament
The 20th Malahide Millennium Tournament (incorporating the 88th Leinster Championships) took place at the weekend (8th April - 10th April) in the Radisson Hotel, Dublin Airport Junior: 1st Elliot O'Connell 5½/6; 2nd-4th Alan Lane, Nikolai Dimitrov, Alex O'Rourke 4½/6; Grading Prizes Tushar Jain, Lorcan McDonnell Ryan Intermediate: 1st Anastasiya Kelbas 5½/6; 2nd Stephen Jablon 5/6; 3rd-5th Vjekoslav Novak, Charlie O'Connell, Paul Taaffe 4/6; Grading Prize Peter Lynch Senior: 1st Jacob Flynn [CM] 4/5; 2nd-3rd Shane Melaugh, Florian Popist 3½/5 The 2023 Leinster Champions are: Junior: Elliot O'Connell; Intermediate: Anastasiya Kelbas; Senior: Jacob Flynn [CM]

National Club Championships
Reminder that the National Club Championships are being hosted by Ennis Chess Club in the West County Hotel at the end of April. Refer to the ICU site or the link below for more details : Qualifiers will be eligible for the European Club Chess Championship.

Venue Changes
Elm Mount are moving to Artane/Beaumont Family Recreation Centre, Kilmore Road, Artane in March ( Heidenfeld game against Celbridge should be unchanged) Skerries are moving to the Skerries Amalgamated Bridge Clubs, 73B Strand Street, Skerries.

Game Rearrangements
Note: Games may be played ahead of the prescribed fixture date to facilitate teams and players entering other chess tournaments. Games postponed until after the prescribed date must be approved by the leagues controller.

Germaine Cup 2022
The Leinster Chess Union (LCU) is pleased to announce that this year’s Mick Germaine Cup competition for teams of juniors / novices is back after a three year gap owing to Covid 19 public health restrictions. The event will take place on Sunday 11th December 2022 in the Ierne Sports and Social Club (Main Hall), Gracepark Road, Drumcondra, Dublin 9 (home of the Elm Mount Chess Club). LCU Christmas Blitz
The LCU Annual Christmas Blitz will take place on Wednesday 21st of December in the Ierne Sports and Social Club, Gracepark Road, Drumcondra, Dublin 9 (Home of Elm Mount Chess Club) starting at 8.15 pm sharp. The entry fee is €5 & registration is from 7.45pm. Lots of prizes and fun guaranteed! Food will also be provided on the night.
